“Wow ! did we really do that ? It was the dogs bollox !”
Since our start in 2005 Stray Dog Adventures has been the go to place for thrilling and unique on and off road adventures in Cambodia. Stray dog customers have had the pleasure of crossing the Caradamon and elephant mountain ranges, viewed beautiful white sandy beaches, visiting hill tribes and rural villages, coming across Angkorian ruins and riding the scenic National Parks all over Cambodia. In addition to our main passion ( getting dirty on motorbikes) we also provide a wide range of activities including but not limited to Moto skim boarding, 4x4 excursions, Trekking, Camping, Mountain biking.
We offer guided tours for all skill levels; from simple roads for beginners to technical single track for the more advanced motorcycle rider, and rental bikes for all dirt adventures. You can have a leisurely, scenic scooter ride or experience the "extreme" motorcycle ride of a lifetime. Take part in a breathtaking, one-of-a-kind experience that takes you to beautiful remote areas with very few people.
The ideal season to enjoy the riding tours and other outdoor activities is during the dry season ( from November to April ) However, it is in rainy season that you can experience much more of an adventure as you travel along dirt muddy roads and at this time of the year the landscape becomes so beautifully lush green.
The Stray Dog Crew
At Stray Dog Adventures we operate a fleet of Honda XR 250’s set up for off-roading and maintained to the highest standard. Other performance bikes such as Yamaha TTR 250cc, XR 400cc and XR 650cc are also available for rent.
HONDA XR250R
HONDA XR250L
HONDA XR400R
HONDA XR650 L
HONDA CRM250 AR
YAMAHA TTR250R
weight: 100 kg
fuel capacity: 9,7 L
engine: air cooled, dry-sump, single-cylinder, four-stroke
info: the XR250R is a trail bike used for on- and off-road purposes. It is a four-stroke, SOHC, 249 cc bike. It is a very reliable, capable motorcycle off-road and does exceptionally well, PARIS DAKAR being one of the known rallies the bike has done exceptionally well in.
weight: 123 kg
fuel capacity: 9,7 L
engine: air cooled, dry-sump, single-cylinder, four-stroke
info: this street version of the XR250R had road legal lights and tires, a metal fuel tank, keyed ignition/steering lock, plus other minor changes. Some 40 lbs heavier, it had reduced off-road ability. It shared the XR250R's RFVC 249 cc engine, but with a different carburetor and 3 mm smaller exhaust headers to meet emissions requirements.
weight: 121 kg
fuel capacity: 9,5 L
engine: air cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder SOHC, 4 valve
info: the XR 400R was Introduced in 1996. It had a similar frame, plastics and suspension components with the XR 250R, and had a similar air-cooled engine with RFVC technology. The xr400 had more suspension travel and a longer wheelbase. XR 400's were heavily modified and raced.
weight: 147 kg
fuel capacity: 10,7 L
engine: air cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder SOHC, 4 valve, dry-sump
info: the XR650L is a dual-sport motorcycle [...], part of the Honda XR series. It was released in 1992 as a 1993 model. It combines the RFVC engine from the proven NX650 Dominator dual sport with the lighter, off-road capable XR600R chassis, which is not road legal in the US. It has been produced virtually unchanged since 1993.
weight: 110 kg
fuel capacity: 14 L
engine: liquid cooled, two stroke, single cylinder
info: this is an outstanding example of an ideal off road motorcycle that is in its element when green lanning but at the same time is more than capable of competing in enduros. With its robust, faultless 250cc 2 stoke engine it struggles to frustrate its owner. The CRM could well be described along side a world war 2 tank. Its unbreakable framework and sturdy good quality parts means it can withstand most terains.
weight: 113 kg
fuel capacity: 12 L
engine: air-cooled, four stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve per cylinder
info: the Yamaha TTR250 is a hardy wee beastie. As an undemanding, unfussy enduro bike for newer riders it excels, with a never-say-die single cylinder motor that has just enough pep for muddy fun. Now deleted from Yamaha’s range the Yamaha TT250R is still a sound used buy providing you don’t have to go too far on the tarmac.

Moto skimboarding is skiming down the beach in only a few centimeters of water while being pulled along on a cord by a motorbike. It’s similar to wake boarding except your feet are not strapped in and the small waves are your wake.
Not a motorcycle rider! But would still like to experience the action? Our dirt tour routes can also be driven in the comfort of a 4x4 vehicle. This is great for partners, friends, children and other non-riders who want to travel with their motorcycle pals to see the amazing sites or for peoples who would like to explore Cambodian countryside and curiosities with the comforts of air conditioning, carrying your luggage/food and beverages. Choose a tour or take the off road route to your destination!
Ream and Bokor National Parks are options for a day of trekking, although it is not a very popular activity for visitors to Sihanoukville. Ream has some scenic trails of low elevation and several tour companies in Sihanoukville sell packaged tours that usually include a boat trip and some trekking in the park. From Koh Kong, the Cardamon Mountains offer adventure trekking through dense, virgin forest to beautiful, secluded waterfalls. Some of the larger islands like Koh Tonsay and Koh Rong Samloem also have nice areas to trek.
There are lots of options for trekking and camping in Elephant Mountain, Caradamon Mountain, Kirirom National park and Araol Mountains.
If clients are to carry their own bag it will be $60 a day per person. Porter will add a feather $30 per a day.
Elephant Mountain Trek :( 2 days 1 night)
At an elevation up to 1000m hike. Following the Tuk Chhawo rapids it’s a 35km trek up to the top of Bokor Mountain. We will camp near a Pagoda on the hill. Start and finish in Kampot.
Caradamon Mountain Trek 1 (3 days 2 nights)
This is the best wildlife trek in Cambodia. Camping on rapids and watching elephants on the other side. The whole trek is a 117km up and down walk.
Camping allows us to stay in the heart of the most breathtaking natural scenery, away from fast food outlets and encroaching development. Our experienced tour leaders and top quality equipment will surely enhance your experience. We understand that when camping in the wilds of Asia comfort is paramount. When traveling with Stray Dog Adventures you enjoy only the highest quality camping equipment. Including as follows:

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY OF RIDE WITH STRAY DOG ADVENTURES LIKE?
At 9:00 a.m. when you arrive, you will be asked to sign a waiver . After putting on the motorcycle safety gear provided, all riders will be divided into groups based on ability and experience. If you don't know how to ride, we will give you a riding lesson in the morning and then take you on a tour in the afternoon. If you already know how to ride, you will spend all day on the trails. Breaks are scheduled throughout the day as well as a large group lunch. All riding ends at 3:00 p.m. At this time you are asked to return all equipment and lucky for you, we do the laundry.

WHAT DOES THE LUNCH CONSIST OF?

Eat all you like and enjoy sometime relaxing in hammocks or get in the waterfall, bench racing (telling tales about how good a rider you are) with your friends. We are vegetarian friendly, but it is good to let us know in advance. Food allergies should be noted when booking a date.

WHAT ARE THE TRAILS LIKE?
Depending on your ability, you may encounter a variety of terrain. You can exprance everything from sand, gravel, rocks, loam, hills, valleys, fields, forests and more. The trails range in size from being 12 feet wide to 1 foot wide “single-track” (only enough room for a “single” vehicle).

ARE THERE ANY RULES?
Yes, we do have some rules, mostly for safety reasons:
Unless directly told otherwise, stay behind the leader. This is NOT negotiable. In certain sections of the rally we travel in areas where there are hundreds of walking trails and ox-cart tracks and as there are no signs or people, and obviously no petrol or water available (dry season), we don’t have the time or resources to go tracking down riders who decide to lead the pack then lose their way. If, after 15 minutes, you don’t see any other fellow riders, stop and wait. For this reason, it’s important to bring a cheap watch to keep track of time. And make sure you and your bike are in an obvious place where you can be seen (not off the road, or in a shop, or under a tree) and stay with your bike and listen out for us. Don't try to find your way, we will come and find you. Let the rally leader know when your drinking water is running low (preferably before we leave a major town or village). If you rent a bike , be sure to wear the appropriate gears. We provide them for tours. You must ride on the right side of the road and obey the road rules. When riding on main roads, you have to ride in a single file with 20 meters distance between each others. Be AWARE of cows, buffalos, pigs, dogs, chickens and other road users. While riding trough a village , always slow down and be aware of children playing on the road. When riding on dirt tracks and trails you should leave a gap between you and the rider in front at all times (Fall , holes , obstacles on the road ).Be extra cautious when crossing a wooden bridge , slow down or push the bike . When in doubt , slow down and avoid any accident . Ride at your OWN PACE , enjoy the surroundings, you will not be left behind. Bring a sense of humour.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I M INJURED DURING A TOUR ?
Obviously this will depend on the type of injury and where it occurs, and we certainly won’t leave anyone behind in the middle of nowhere, but should someone break a rib or a big toe we’ll transport them to the nearest major road or village and organise transport for them and their bike back to Siahnoukville or Phnom Penh or any closest major city. We’ll have someone meet them at the other side to get medical attention if required. In the unlikely event that someone is in a very bad way we will arrange for a helicopter extraction. This is a very costly exercise so make sure the person you nominate as someone to contact in case of emergency on our registration form is prepared to send a few thousand dollars your way – or check that your insurance policy covers this and make sure they have a 24-hour world-wide contact number and give us the details!Out of the hundreds of riders there was non who use the helicopter .To avoid any injuries Remember this is a non-competitive ride so unless you’re doing 110km/h flying-in and out of the trees through the jungle there should be no major problems. If after reading any of this, you still have any doubts or concerns, please let me know and I’ll do my best to address them.
